MARGIE CUNNINGHAM lives in Corpus Christi, Texas with her husband, Bob, who does all of her matting and framing. She has a Home Studio where she enjoys painting in watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, and colored pencil. There is always a new and exciting technique to try in each medium. She prefers the loose impressionistic style in watercolor and pastel, and the more realistic approach in oil. She covers a wide variety of subject matter, including landscapes, floral, seascapes, sand dunes, still life, and wildlife.
Her paintings have been exhibited in a number of cities in Texas and other states. She has won 61 awards, including four "Best of Show" and she has a large number of one-artist shows to her credit. Her latest and greatest honor was a one-artist exhibit in the Kucera Gallery at the Art Center of Corpus Christi. Forty of her paintings were shown during the month of July 2004, with a reception July 11.
She is a member and Past President of the Corpus Christi Art Guild, a Charter member of the Art Center of Corpus Christi, 100 Shoreline Drive, and a member of the Watercolor Society of South Texas. She has served as a judge in several area exhibits.
